Personal identity means the persistent and continuous unity of the individual person normally attested by continuity of memory with present consciousness. Also, we can say that it is defined by the color of our skin. On the other hand, social identity refers to a person’s sense of who they are based on their group membership. People are more focused and influenced on their social group than their own self because they are afraid of being alone. Consequently, they have tendencies to invest their time in finding the right social group that suits them the most. In most situations, people do believe that it is better for them to have social groups than to be happy with themselves. This is due to the fact that they are afraid of dying alone, so this is why they decide to be more involved with other people to try to find happiness and to fill in the empty space that they have when they spend time with themselves. The society made different social groups because they want to make some boundaries between people which only make things worse than they are. This is only meant to create differences between people. It is proven that it is healthier for people to learn to live on their own and not depend on others because you are never sure that they will stay with you forever. One day, someone told me that at the end of the day you can only rely on your family and yourself. I do believe this is true because no matter what you do your family will always be there for you and they will never judge you even though they might disagree with your choices. It is true that people feel lonelier now. The reason why it is like this is because there is too much social media that people just go behind a screen and talk to each other. The interaction between each other is not present as much anymore and that is why people tend to be more depressed and try to find a social group with the same characteristics and personalities as them which is not simple to find because of our differences in culture, religion, education, and social
