Arguments Against Gmo

In Brazil, a coffee farmer discharges all of his employees because a fungus invaded his crops. A corn harvester in Iowa struggles to accomplish his harvest due to a drought on his land. Fruit workers in Hawaii are terrified because their plants are struck by poisonous bees. These random disasters will continue occurring on a planet with climate change, and disruptions. Lack of sunlight and rain will automatically turn our growing plants pale, brown, and eventually cause them to fall off. While too much sunlight will cause plants to dry, and ample rain will clog their roots resulting in a slow death. Droughts are also becoming common in agriculture. They lead large portions of land to dehydrate, and become barren. Charales Iceland, from the World Resource Institute, A Global Tour of recent droughts, mentioned, in 2012, half of India's population was moved by a water crisis which led to a drought in the land. Food is a necessary requirement to human survival and there’s no such thing as too much, especially when around 795 million of our population is starving (statistic by WFP). Genetically modified foods would not be completely saving the world, but will provide a large percentage of the solution.
