After being greeted by an albatross, the mariner kills the bird with his crossbow, angering his crew, though the sky turns blue and the temperature becomes warmer. However, they find themselves near the equator, where the waters are boiling, and the mariner's senseless actions are blamed for placing the crew near their deaths. As a punishment, the captain orders the crew to tie the albatross carcass around the neck of the mariner. Filled up with regret and hopelessness, the mariner is sent through turmoil, as he begins encountering a hallucination of Death, and left drinking his own urine until he has no more to produce. Down on his knees by agony for his shipmates' and the captain's fate, the mariner becomes the only survivor and never meets his fate. The mariner storytelling captures every grave aspect of his unfortunate journey and the imagery is nearly authentic towards the audience. Every character, personality and sound effect were portrayed by a single actor, yet his acting made it appear like they were brought to life right on the stage. The actor's performance calls for an unforgettable standing ovation as it was the only performance on the stage. It is by far the utmost form of oral poetry in contemporary
