Personal Essay: My Apology In The Classroom

Improved Essays
To start off my apology I would like to start by saying that I know what I have done is not what I should be doing and every time that I do something that is against the rules other people think that it is ok to break the rules too and I know that I have a lot of people looking up to me so I am not being a very good role model for the people around me. I know the 9th graders look up to us when we are in bible class. Like the other day in class I said something funny and they all laugh and even on the next day they were bringing it up and saying how funny it was. so If I act bad then they are going to think Nathan is being bad so it must be cool to be bad and that is not the kind of example I want to set so the kids in the younger grades I want them to know that they can be cool or funny and still follow the rules and that the rules are in place not to make the class more lame or boring but to make the class easier on us and on the teachers. So In the next couple of paragraph I will explain the three major even of what happened and explain what I could have …show more content…
This is a big problem for me because I love to talk. I talk all the time and when I think of something funny or I have something to say to one of my friends I usually say it. I think that I should defiantly cut down on the amount of talking that I do in class. One it sets a bad example for the younger kids like when I’m in bible class we have the 9th graders so they really look up to us so if I’m in class making jokes and getting in trouble then they say hey people are really paying attention to him and he is really funny I want to be like him. But that is what they shouldn’t be like. Also it’s not really fair to the people that need extra to learn or really want to learn. If the teacher is constantly having to stop the class to say can you stop talking or please be quiet then its taking time away from the class time for people that really need

In a 2006 study about group forgiveness, researchers Catherine Philpot and Matthew Hornsey, found that Australians did not yet forgive the Japanese and other groups of perpetrators, for killing or harming other Australians. Although they were reluctant to forgive, many Australians were more willing to concede when individuals apologized on behalf of themselves, or of the group they represented. They concluded that forgiveness is not granted unless there is motivation promoting condonation. To quote, “while official group apologies increase satisfaction with offending groups, forgiveness may not be aroused unless motivation exists for it to do so” (Philpot and Hornsey). One way to determine whether or not forgiveness is granted, is to determine if the criminals were welcomed…

Apologizing is usually what a person would do if they have done something wrong, or if they have personally hurt another individual. However, sometimes an apology is given when it is something that people have done in the past. There have been so many wrongs in the past that some people still feel the need to be apologizing for them, and some people still feel they are owed an apology from the governments of the involved countries. In “A Sorry State”, Mitch Miyagawa discusses the many apologies that have been given out by governments around the world and what those apologies truly accomplish. There has been an apology given for every war, every case of discrimination, and every misguided choice.…

This was in fifth grade, I bullied the kid for the first half of the tri-semester, but I didn’t realize the impact of what I was doing. Then one day I saw that same kid that I bullied, he was bullying another younger kid. What I saw was a trend, he was bullying that other younger kid because of me, I saw the potential of what I was doing. It made me feel so guilty of inflicting pain on someone else that I didn’t mean to harm. I consulted with one of my older cousins(he was in eighth grade at the time), he told me the best way to show that you are truly sorry was to show it to them not say it, I took those words to heart and I decide to employ them immediately to repair the damages that I’ve caused.…

During the start of class week four we started our discussion on the reading, The Apology, by Plato. We brought up some key points to pay attention for when reading, and also some vocab words to help us better understand the text. One of the words we mentioned was exordium, and how the goal of this action was to gain your attention. Focusing more on the reading we discussed how Socrates age should have played a “trump” card in his trial. In some cultures age is well respected, and elders of that culture are not question or held liable for certain actions.…

Upon my entry into English 1010-02, my first college writing class, I expected to breeze through the course with an easy-A and minimal effort after my successful completion of AP English 11 this past year. I began the year with the utmost confidence in my writing abilities, and believed that my skills were above par. It wasn’t until I received my score on the essay evaluation for my First-Week Essay- a measly five out of twenty- that I realized that this was not the case. At first, I was astonished that my seemingly exceptional writing skills had not earned me the A that I believed I deserved. However, as time went on I came to the realization that I had not put in nearly enough time or effort into the paper to receive more than a C at most.…

“I’m sorry.” Two simple words that can be articulated to mean a number of different things. Two words that, unfortunately, we have been exposed to our entire lives. Two words that are perceived as a good thing, yet in all reality symbolize the acknowledgment of unacceptable acts. When these two words are strung together to create a sentence that will invariably be answered with a quick “It’s okay”, it is easy to assess what has just happened.…

Why is it important to forgive. To forgive means to stop feeling anger towards a person or blaming them for something wrong they did. Many people think of forgiving as a reconstruction of a relationship with the person who did you wrong, but its understanding the situation and moving past it. I personally think forgiving is important for us to continue with our daily life, it makes us healthier, even happier. You might want to consider forgiving, as it means not hurting yourself anymore as emotions might get in the way and it is life changing, it makes you let go of the past that has haunted you.…
