It can be split in three regions, each one with a different climate category. To the northern part of the country where the Rocky Mountains are located the weather is referred to as Alpine climate, with a simple definition of where trees fail to grow due to the cold. In this area rain, and snow are a common part of it. The central region is more Mediterranean climate, which consist of mild, wet winters, and dry summers. Temperatures rarely reach the extremes during summer, but upon winter season occasionally snowfalls reach certain areas of the region. The southern region of Greece has a more tropic climate, and temperature tends to change a lot over the course of the years.
