Anti Gun Control Research Paper

Having people carry guns around has come to the attention of many people and this particular topic has become quite the topic of discussion in recent years. Generating mass arguments for the need to reform gun ownership especially with the recent police shootings. Anti-gun advocates have been doing everything in their power to minimize weapons on the streets and prevent these said shootings. These people have all the right to be afraid or concerned for this matter. Last thing we want is to provide a weapon to a person that can barely think straight. This may be true however, it is in the constitutions second amendment that anyone has the right to bear arms. Exempting this right from the mentally challenged is going against the founding fathers words. This right was given so anyone can be able to defend themselves if they are ever attacked by some evil organization and even their own government. By …show more content…
The more laws that are passed, the more the public is discouraged to take the mental health test and purchase a gun. These are little but effective tactics that the government uses to remove weapons from the citizens. The test is not necessary because if a mentally challenged person was going to do something insane with a weapon, he would get a hold of the weapon “illegally”, which defeats the purpose of having a test to begin with. Restrictions and laws would not reduce the violence in the United States. This test would only make it harder for old folks who can not physically defend themselves to purchase a gun. The sole purpose of having the right to own a gun is so people from the United States can defend themselves in case someone tries to take their freedom away. Not allowing everyone to own a gun would be of disrespect to the people who have fought for this countries
