It helps display the side effects one may encounter due to excessive use of media. The article describes what emotions are experienced while one uses social media, as most situations lead to the individual being depressed. By understanding depression you gain insight as to why some people resort to bullying. Most bullies have experienced a degree of trauma in their past which encourages them to inflict pain on others. This is especially the case in films where the producers ensure the bully has undergone a distasteful experience leading them to release their anger on weaker opponents. Through this element of knowledge I am able to add more emotional factors into my argument to assist it’s strength.

This second article is especially useful towards my argument as it mentions both the movie I have chosen as well as a form of bullying I would like to explore. The two types of bullying I would like to investigate are verbal in addition to cyber bullying, both of which are showcased in 13 Reasons Why. In my opinion 13 Reasons Why is the definition of bullying as it resulted in a young woman being pushed over the edge and committing suicide.
