Summary: In Laptop Computers in The Elementary Classroom, there was evidence to suggest that dependable instruction was taking place in this classroom through lessons that integrated laptop computers. When laptops were brought into a high risk classroom there were no issues with maltreatment of the computers. Enthusiasm of the students was very high; and the teacher became a true supporter for the effective integration of technology. Commentary: The article was very well written. The author was concise with his word choice. The article was set up in an easy way, making it clear to read and understand. Throughout the article the where many quotes that I would like to use in my paper such as “Students learned to use the computers as tools for learning, much as they would use a pencil or paper.” I would like to use this in my paragraph to back up refute the point that students learning to use laptops would take too much time. Lastly, there were great interviews with students at the end of the article asking how they enjoyed laptops which can be used in as support in my …show more content…

Summary: In the article “Understanding factors associated with teacher-directed student use of technology in elementary classrooms: A structural equation modeling approach” by Helena P. Miranda and Michael Russell, a study was conducted to predict teacher-directed student use of in elementary classrooms. Evidence presented suggests that laptops were brought into the class if teachers’ belief was technology is beneficial to meet instructional goals, (4) experiencing obstacles with the integration of technology appears to be one deterrent to teachers using technology in the classroom
Commentary: The article used a lot of scientific data, that I will not be needing to write my research paper. Also the article focused more on the teachers and their beliefs on using technology. However, my paper is going to focus on the students and how they are affected by technology. The information in this article could help with the refuting paragraphs for the research
