Each Officer is able to go to each other to ask for assistance on paperwork as well as trading shifts for intake. The start of my internship I was under supervision of Officer Baines, my first assignment was to witness a case opening. A case opening is the first initial meeting between the Officer and the client, the client has to answer several routine questioners which have been created by the department, and the client and the Officer create a relationship.…

For example, most elderly patients who are 65 and older, often get referred to sub-acute rehab, skilled nursing facilities, home care, Adult Protective Services, hospice care, or palliative care.…

Maltreated children are at risk for significant psychological and physical health symptoms. These include anxiety, depression, suicide, impulsivity, hyperactivity, interpersonal problems, hyper arousal, and dissociation (Lawson, 2009). Unfortunately, many families with children who face challenges such as child maltreatment have been investigated by the local Department of Social Services for incidents which may be minor or severe. The Department of Human Resources collaborated with stakeholders, advocates, experts, community service providers, and local social services department offices known as the Alternative Response Advisory Council to create Maryland's AR program (Rock, 2014).…
