In between the years of 1914 to 1918, the first world war was fought. The Treaty of Versailles ended it 1919. Known fact that this war left behind a distinguished nation hungry for power and revenge. A nation so eager for power that it initiated the first world war and was only left with massive inflation, debt, guilt, lost territories, and dead soldiers. In 1920 this country is described Germany, and it seeked revenge, along with all the power it could manage to get ahold of. In thought, what actually made Germany want these things? It was a war brought into being by a huge military build-up. Germany was determined not to be outgunned by anybody else’s army and be able to hold their own when the time comes. Also, come the summer of 1918 Germany was ready to give up on everything, little if any of the war had been fought on German soil resulting in that many of the German people, didn’t know they were losing throughout the war. For example, stated in document B, “The army shall be devoted exclusively to the maintenance of order within the territory and to the control of the frontiers” expressing how Germany was determined and wanted a military that was ready for any obstacle thrown at them. This ensured that Germany would not have support from the smaller countries in Europe said from (Document B). Germany was the one to be blamed for World War I. Not only that but, they were also responsible to pay for all of the damage that was caused during the war. The Allied Rivals were the ones who said Germany is responsible for the payments of the war. As of May 1, 1912, Germany was forced to start the payments and by May 1, 1951 everything was required to be paid in whole. Germany had so much on their plate it was ridiculous, but Germany had the money to do it, come 1921 it was 132 billion gold marks to be paid off by germany and by 1929 it was 112 billion gold
