The Spartacists

The Spartacists were a socialist group in Germany, led by Rosa Luxemberg and Karl Liebknecht. They formed the Communist Party in Germany, and led an uprising in January 1919 against the new Weimar Government.

The Weimar Republic

The Weimar Republic was the government set up in Germany after the November Armistice at the end of World War One. It was collapsed in 1933, when Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany, and the Nazi Party came into power. It experienced many problems, including hyperinflation, which caused the Great Depression, and proved to be largely unpopular, which gave more support and credence to Adolf Hitler and his ideals.

The Nazi Party was a government group led by Adolf Hitler. After much publicity in the 1920s following the failed Beer Hall Putsch, leading to the imprisonment of Adolf Hitler, they came into power in 1933, and their invasion of other European countries eventually led to World War Two, as well as their persecution of the population's minorities.
