They are trying to find clues of the patterns of migration of human beings. This helps people trace the history of humans. It is learned that they all originated in Africa. They find that the tribes have genetics from the early waves of human migration.

Cities are grown on the side of the river. It is was based on the technological developments that allowed agriculture to exist in the first place. It was probably needed when there was a need for trade and for sustainability of a large population.

They found writing that cannot be deciphered. They also found out that Mohenjo-Daro was part of a powerful empire. They also found out that the civilization had traded with people from places like Iraq and also suggested that they were part of the most populous civilization.

India was part of a geological island and rammed into Asia. They believe that climate change caused the decrease in the strength of the monsoons, and thus lessened the water supply needed to sustain civilization. People were forced to move away to new places with rivers.

The Vedas are the oldest scriptures for Hindus. Since they are so well translated, the historians can date the stories of the past. The Rig Veda, 1000s of hymns that are passed down to Brahmins, are stories that are passed of the past. The stories tell of people looking for new land and gives insight as to what the people that moved into India were like. Those groups of people are called Aryans. People use the Rig Veda to trace the Aryans as the language source for India.

There was a close relationship between Sanskrit, Latin and Greek. Many people believe that the language came for the same source outside of India.
What linguistic influences did the Aryans bring to India?
The Aryans brought to India the Vedic language and that eventually developed into the Indian language of Sanskrit. It is believed that the Aryans are the ones that help spread variances of the same language across Europe and Asia and it did in fact help India form Sanskrit as a language of its own.

The Aryans brought elements of militarism and mobile societies into India. That idea, along with the ideas of the Dravidians, allowed for the teachings in the Upanishads that allowed for the social division in the caste system and brought the ideas of life existing in a cycle of reincarnation.

It proved that before the colonial period in India, India had an identity of its own, a history of its own. Many Indian revolutionaries also used it as a source of inspiration for the whole society to find a source of cultural unity as well.
