Package Injection/Infusion/Dosage

Injection -100mg/5mL or 20mg/mL


Infusion - 1g/250mL or 4mg/mL


Pulse present: Adult: 0.5-1mg/kg bolus. Repeat every 5 mins as needed. Max of 3mg/kg. Pediatric: 1mg/kg bolus. Repeat every 5 mins as needed. Max of 3mg/kg.


Cardiac Arrest: Adult: 1mg/kg bolus. Pediatric: 0.5-1mg/kg. Max 3mg/kg


Post-conversion maintenance: 20-50mcg/kg/min

Indications/Contraindications

(Ind)- Pulseless ventricular tachycardia/ventricular fibrillation (alternative to amiodarone) - Ventricular tachycardia with a pulse (alternative to amiodarone) - Stable polymorphic VT if Torsades de pointes is suspected.


(Contra)- Allergy to medication; Wide-complex ventricular escape beats associated with Bradycardia - 2nd or 3rd degree heart block or severe bradycardia (HR <50)

May decrease ICP response during intubation. Lidocaine
