When I saw the title of this essay at first, it got me thinking of young people and the problems that are associated with them. I have to say that I agree/disagree with the statement (insert statement)

Nuair a chonaic mé teideal na haiste seo i dtosach, chuir sé ag smaoineamh mé ar dhaoine óga agus na fadhbanna a bhaineann leo. Caithfidh mé a rá go n-aointaím / nach n-aointaím leis an ráiteas seo...

Everyone in Ireland understand that change is coming for the lives of teenagers lately and that they have horrible pressure. This topic is talked much of in the public lately.

Tuigeanm gach mac, máthair agus iníon, athair in Éirinn go bhfuil athrú tar éis teacht ar shaol an deagóra le déanaí agus go bhfuil brú uafásach orthu. Tá an ábhar seo go mór i mbéal an phobail faoi láthair.

What image do normal teenagers have nowadays in Ireland? Them talking on the phone, going out on weekends with plenty of money, listening to the latest music, looking at Facebook on their laptops.

Cén íomhá atá ag an ngnáthdhéagóir sa lá atá inniu ann in Éirinn? É ag labhairt ar an bhfón póca, ag dul amach ag an deireadh seachtaine le flúirse airgid ina phóca, ag éisteacht leis an gceol is déanaí, ag féachaint ar Facebook ar a ríomhaire gluine.

This story is no doubt a contraversal subject because it's often that the media discusses about the problems associated with teenagers. We only have to listen to headlines of newspapers and we hear references to problems of drinking, cyber bullying or drugs.

Ábhar conspóideach is ea an scéal seo gan dabht mar is minic a bhíonn na meáin ag plé na fadhbanna ag baint le deagóirí. Ní gá dúinn ach éisteacht le ceannlínte na nuachta lá ar bith agus cloisifimid tagairt éigin do fadhb an óil, cibearbulaíocht nó drugaí.

At first, I'd like to say that I'm a young person myself. I'm 16 and in 5th year. There's a lot of pressure as well. I'm very sure that there will be more pressure when I'm in the LC next year.

Ar an gcéad dul síos, ba mhaith liom a rá gur daoine óga mé féin. Táim sé bliana déag daois. Cé gur bhfuil mé I gcúigiú bhliain, tá neart brú ann freisin. Táim lánchinnte go mbeidh níos mó brú ann nuair a beidh mé I rang na hArdteistiméireachta i mbliana seo chugainn.

To be honest, there's only pressure pressure and more pressure on students nowadays. There's pressure from every side : from the point system, parents, teachers, soicety, friends and from yourself.

Chun a fhirinne a rá, níl ach brú, brú agus níos mó brú ar dhaltaí inniu. Bíonn brú air ó gach taobh: ó gcóras na bpointí, ó na tuismitheorí, ó na múinteorí, ón sochaí, ó na cairde, uaidh féin.

Alcohol takes a big part in the life of teenagers lately. When the results for the Jcert comes out, there are ugly sights on thet streets : young people younger than 16 passed out from alcohol.

Glacann alcól páirt mhór I saol na ndéagóirí faoi láthair. Nuair a thagann torthaí an Teastas Shóisearaigh amach, bíonn radharcanna gránna le feiceáil ar ár sráideanna : daoine óga faoi bhun sé bliana déag daois agus iad caochta amach is amach le halcól.

According to the latest statistics, there's a big increase in people taking drugs. Young people get fed up with the pressure and there's no suprise that some start to take drugs.

Dé réir na staitisticí is déanaí, tá méadú mór tagtha ar líon na ndaoine ag togáil drugaí. Éiríonn daoine daoine óga bréan den brú agus ní haon ionadh é go dtosaíonn cuid acu ag togáil drugaí!

There a a lot addicted to drugs nowadays and drugs create nothing else but more problems : crime, poverty. People started stealing to buy drugs.

Tá a lán acu gafa le drugaí sa lá atá inniú ann agus cruthaíonn na drugaí faic na fríde ach a thuilleadh fadhbanna : coiriúlacht agus bochtanas. Tosaíonn daoine ag goid chun drugaí a cheannach.

As I mentioned above, there's a lot of problems for young people nowadays. Parents and adults don't understand the pressure associated with drugs, alcohol and school.

Mar a luaigh mé thuas, tá go leor fadhbanna ag daoine óga sa lae atá inniú ann. Ní thuigeann tuismitheorí agus daoine fásta an bhrú a bhaineann le drugaí, alcól agus scoil.

We have to find the solution without delay, or it'll be too late. We have to put more facilities to keep young people busy and to improve the situation.

Ba cheart tuilleadh áiseanna a chur ar fáil chun daoine óga a choiméad gnóthach agus chun feabhas a dhéanamh ar chursaí.

In this essay, I mentioned the problem with drugs. I talked about the pressure in school. I discussed the problem with alcohol.
