What is the purpose of RMD? |
To provide special ship control and causaulty control procedures for use when the ship experiences an engineering casualty in restricted manuevering situation. |

Watch standers on the bridge and in engineering. It deviates from normal EOCC procedures |

When does a restricted manuevering situation occur? |
In an environment where lost of propulsion, steering, or electrical power loss could immediately threaten the ships embarked aircraft, landing craft, or personnel. |

Engines and associated equipment will not be stopped in event of casualty. We will just keep going until failure of equipment. |

Not authorized while RMD is in effect. |

Slq will pick up on radar Set general quarters Try to evade incoming contact using nixie for torpedos Use chaff and CIWS for missles CiC Tao will take tactical command off fhe situation DCA and XO will take charge of the damage control efforts. |

Conduct steering checks Energize and inspect electronic equipment IAW CSLO Engage engine clutches and test for positive pitch control at EOSC / 1st LT Energize deguassing and check coil settings Top off fresh water tanks Shift from shore to ship power Energize and test SCC Deliver draft report Place CHT in transit mode Disconnect hotel services and verify Start both steering gear units Request range run from deguassing control Report zebra set
