Deminished interest or pleasure in all, or almost all, activities most of the day, nearly everyday (either subjective account or observation)

Explain deminished ability to concentrate/indecisiveness

Deminished ability to concentrate or think, or indecisiveness, nearly everyday (either subjective or observed by others)

Explain feelings criteria

Feelings of worthlessness or excessive or inappropriate guilt (which maybe delusional) nearly everyday (not merely self approach or guilt about being sick)

Explain fatigue criteria

Fatigue or loss of energy nearly everyday

Explain depressed mood criteria

Depressed mood most of the day, nearly everyday, as indicated by either subjective report or observation made by others. NOTE: in children and adolescents can be irritable mood

Explain recurrent thoughts criteria

Recurrent thoughts of death. Recurrent suicidal ideation without a specific plan, or a suicide attempt, or a specific plan for committing suicide
