Is Pediazole breast feeding compatible?

sulfisoxazole is not recommended in mother's nursing infants <2mo old b/c sulfonamides cross into the milk and may cause kernicterus in the newborn because sulfas compete with bilirubin for binding sites.
The AAP considers it compatible in full term neonates. However it is not recommended if the infant is ill, premature, or has G6PD deficiency |
