Step 1 (airtanks)

Chock and block wheels

Engine on

Spring brake applied

Transmission neutral

Psi is 105, within NOR

Step 2 (airtanks)

Engine off

psi is still NOR, at 100 psi

Step 3 (air tanks)

Locate primary airtank

It passes because

-it's securely mounted

-valve is working

-discharge is clear when tank is empty

It fails if :

-not mounted securely

-valve not working

-discharge is not clear when tank is empty

Step 4( air tanks)

Locate remaining air tanks

They pass if

- all mounted securely

- all valves working

-discharge is clear when tanks are empty

Fail if:

-any tank is not mounted securely

-any valve is not working

-discharge from any tank is not clear

Step 5(air tanks)

In conclusion, this vehicles passes the draining air tanks test because

-all tanks are securely mounted

-all valves are working

-discharge in all tanks is clear when tank is empty

Thus we can put the bus in revenue service

However, it would fail if

-any tank was not mounted securely

-any valve was not working

- discharge in any tank was not clear when tank empty

I would put the bus out of service and report the defect

Step 1 (applied pushrod stroke)

Chock and block the vehicle

Engine is on

Spring brake applied

Transmission neutral

(1st)PSI above 90, currently at 105 psi

Step 2 (applied pushrod stroke test)

Release spring brake

Turn off engine

PSI is between 90 and 100psi, currently at 95 psi

Step 3 (applied pushrod stroke)

Ensure it's clamp style

Mark push rod where it meets the brake chamber for each brake

Ensure psi is between 90 and 100, currently at 95

Step 4 (applied pushrod stroke)

Assistant please make and hold a full service brake application

Measure mark

Secure the bus

Write measurement in mm

Step 5 (applied pushrod stroke)

Find brake size

Write size and adjustment limit

Compare

Step 6 (applied pushrod stroke)

The brake is type, size,etc.

It passes because the measurement I took is equal too or less than the adjustment limit. I can take this bus for revenue service

However it would have failed if the measurement was greater than the adjustment limit
