A major complication after surgery is the infection of the surgical site which is an indicator of the quality of care (Ozmen, Javadov & Yegen, 2016). These type of infection causes increased hospitalization and increased surgery-related costs. As the nurse educator, educating the staff would play an important role in the reduction of the rate of surgery infection, safety and cutting cost within the Summerville community. Evidence-based guidelines can play an important role in the preventive management of surgical site infection, by obtaining a safe patient environment before surgery (Diaz & Newman, 2015).
