Should High School Students Be Allowed To Drive?

Improved Essays
Students should be allowed to drive, even when they live in an area with bus service. If students were forced to ride the bus, not only would it be inconvenient but also unfair.
Bus stops within a bus service can either be close to a student’s house or far away. If they are close then it wouldn’t be much trouble to wait for the bus. Unfortunately for those who live a long ways away, it would be inconvenient. If it was freezing cold or it was storming, then those kids would have to endure the weather and suffer because they are forced to wait. Students with disabilities have it even worse. An adolescence with a broken leg or crutches will be forced to limp to the bus stop, possibly through harsh weather. These are only the morning problems.

A common argument against a later start time is bus tiers. The Morning Edition, an American radio news program, did a segment with a woman named Michelle Trudeau titled “High School Starting Later to Help Sleepy Teens.” She speaks on the effect of school start time and discusses how one of the key roadblocks to changing school start times is the bus tier and extensive transportation scheduling (“High School Starting Later to Help Sleepy Teens”). It is important to recognises this as something people try to use against a later start time, because it is a fair and valid point, but also one that can be overcome. It is a roadblock for a later start time simply because of how intricate and fine tuned a bus schedule is.…

Should schools allow teens to have recess?Schools shouldn't allow teens to have recess. First, recess takes a period away which shortens classes which causes teachers to have a shorter amount of time to teach. Next, schedules are already huge and packed so having a longer lunch or study would help do homework and relax. Teens shouldn't have recess because the school is already packed and gives less time for teachers to teach or should change the period into a study hall. To start, not giving recess for teens would give teachers longer periods to cover more important information and have less homework for students to cause less stress.…
