I, as an individual unit in this community, and I am struggling my best to be a better person in this business world. In order to improve myself, I need to find out what my strengths and weaknesses are. I did Self-assessment Exercises Prof. Bin Ma provide for us. It included eight different categories, which covered Emotional Intelligence, Leadership Style, etc,. Actually, people usually had hard time to search one’s conscience without the help of outsiders. Perhaps, any processes in our life such as studying in school, looking for a job, furthermore, these Self-assessment Exercises did very good job at analyzing human behavior. The first Self-assessment Exercises I took is Emotional Intelligence, my score is 37 out of 50, this could be my strengths, means I can easily to get alone with people around me. However there are still space to improve myself by reading some articles. For instance, J.Segal, Raising Your Emotional Intelligence (Holt, 1997), etc. When I break down Emotional Intelligence into self-awareness, self-management, self-motivation, empathy and social skills. I got 9 out of 10 at social skills, and I did poor at self-management, I don 't think before I act, that usually put me on a very bad situation, which hurt others feeling unintentional. If I don 't improve these, I might have hard time at managing others and working as a team in the future. When I was doing the second Self-assessment Exercises, I found many confusion between those options, in general, I felt that I have to choose in between money and ethics in this exercises, however, as a business studies student, I believe that money is more important than ethics, my exercises result came out with 0.78 out of 5 above the average responses from those 243 management students, it’s about 15.69% above the average responses. …show more content…
In the other word, I will choose to give up ethics if they are against with the way to make more money. There is a danger that I might lost myself during the way I am making money. In this case, I need to learn law and listen to others’ opinions. If I don 't improve in this area, I will easy lost support from people around and I will definitely fail in the future without their supports. That will couple things surprised me when I was taking these assessments. The first thing that is so many genres it could be covered to describe a personality. For example, Organization Structure Preference, a strange thing that I would not relate it to personality, in fact, there are including lots of business’ senses, when I looking into those sources and try to understand them, I found that the way to be success is complicated however there are some inevitability in the senses. For instance, a person who has low EI(Emotional Intelligence) will probably fall apart if she/he were trying to take a job that highly related to regulate emotions, evaluate and feelings, Throughout these assessments, the most valuable thing is the information about ourselves, depend on those data, we will have ability to find out our weakness and try to fixed it, furthermore, we can do these assessments again maybe 2-3 years later, because, as I had mentioned on the previous paragraph, any processes in our life such as studying in school, looking for a job might educate us in a different way. Our thought will be different

I scored a six on self-awareness, nine in self-management, eight in social awareness, and a nine in relationship management. I do agree with this test because, when it comes to Self-awareness, I lack in knowing how to read and understand my emotions, as well as lack in self-confidence, by not knowing my self-worth. This is something that I struggled my whole life, and I think it has to do with the environment and people I grew up with. As for the other three I scored pretty well, and know that I’ve learned them from experience, but wouldn’t hurt if I worked a little more to try and understand each one and better those skills.…
