Hamilton characterizes the French as disgusting and avert. The reason why Hamilton thought that they shouldn’t fight in the war because they had just gotten out of war. The Nation had already lost lots of resources and lots of money. If they were to fight in the war then they are going to be destroyed and they are going to have nothing left. They are going be in an even greater debt than they had in the beginning. Thomas Jefferson thought completely otherwise. Jefferson thought we should fight with French because while they were sacrificing their own people the nation was gaining liberty. The French didn’t want anything back and by helping they weren’t gaining anything from it. All they wanted was a helping hand when they had trouble too. He also thought they should fight in the war was because 99 out of 100 people was celebrate on the French’s
