Upon completing high school, I plan to attend Austin Community College, ACC, to earn a degree in Diagnostic Medial Sonography. My plan is to settle down in a city the size of Bryan/College Station, Texas when I finish college; therefore, I am hoping the job market will allow this. My passion is to work in the field of obstetrics. I cannot think of a more exciting event than seeing life form before it enters the world. I want to enjoy seeing the excitement on parents faces when they view their unborn child or find out the sex of that child. Taking CTE classes in high school has allowed me to fulfill a prerequisite of the sonography program at ACC. Through my health science class, I have trained to be a Certified Nursing Assistant and have completed 40 plus clinical training hours. ACC requires CNA classes, but does not require certification. I will have an edge over other students, because I will be certified. Also, having anatomy and physiology in high school will have prepared me for taking A&P in college. …show more content…
These classes have taught me valuable skills that I could put to use in the work force to make extra money while in college. I could work at a florist creating floral arrangements and wreaths. I could apply my skills acquired from time spent in the greenhouse working at a nursery. Opening several other opportunities in the work force would be math and business skills along with critical thinking skills necessary to solve problems.
