Microflora changes overtime S.aureus and streptococcus GROUP B part of normal skin. However are a problem when they get into deeper tissues. |

Colonisation of facultative anaerobes GN rod like. E.g E.coli. After month - deeper structures affected as the wound deteriorates. ANAEROBES BECOME COMMON SO THE INFECTION IS POLYMICROBIAL. |

Single organism causing disease |

What can happen in the case of infection spreading to deeper tissue? |
It can spread to underlying muscles causing OSTEOMYELITIS. |
