Describe MSDO list and what it does |
Driver is able to select the trains location I.e station and platform number from a pre selected list. The train will then match this to the information on its database and know automatically the number of doors that need to be released. Driver will still need to stop at the correct marker and ensure correct station selected. |

Describe MSDO coaches |
Driver can manually select the coaches they would like the doors to be released on. Driver must take into account short platforms as doors may be released that are not on the platform |

List two PPS’s for stop short and door release |
Ensure you are stopping at correct marker board for your unit and it’s in line with edge of windscreen. Ensure you stop and pause to make sure you are fully in platform before releasing doors. |

Verbally say to yourself which side platform is on or point at platform before releasing doors If platform on offside stand up and door release using buttons on back cab wall or swivel seat to right before releasing. |

Wrong direction mode- external lights will display selected lights at both ends Siding mode- max speed available 6mph- traction power available limited to 33%- power will shut off at selected speed- downhill gradient will cause overspeed- if emergency brake applied mode dis engaged. Terminal station mode- select if station staff need to proceed through train to do a sweep. Allows staff to close and lock off doors as they go. Slow speed mode- use when coupling/uncoupling- max speed 2mph- 33% traction power available. Power will shut off at 2mph. Beware downhill gradient. Need to re select mode if braked ECS mode- will display not in service on pis internal and external- inputs 99999 into HMI as pis code- isolates train doors- reduces hvac operation- main lighting to standby mode Wash mode - 3mph limited to- traction power restricted to 33%- disengage if emergency brake applied- use for entering wash- may enter wash when icon stops flashing. |

snow mode is selected when snow is falling or being disturbed by the passage of trains.the train will put more emphasis on the air braking system when running brake test is performed. This helps brake discs/pads and rigging to keep free of snow and ice and potentially seizing up. |

Stop train immediately avoiding tunnels and contact signaller (stop/box) emergency red button on GSMR Acknowledge fire alarm Check HMI to see affected coach and check in coach monitors. Make PA to passengers to move to a unaffected coach and not to try to evacuate train onto running lines as trains could be passing Attempt to tackle fire if possible , if not re contact signaller request line block and authority to emergency evacuate train. |
