CURTIN
|
A down and outer who befriends Dobbs and Howard. He wants gold so that he can open a peach orchard and work the land with a community of friends, enjoying the seasons and yearly harvest.

A down and outer who befriends Curtin and Howard, goes prospecting for gold but loses his sanity as the gold corrupts his soul.

CODY
|
A man who follows Curtin up the mountain and tries to intrude on (or horn in on) Dobbs, Curtin and Howard. He is killed by Bandits, leaving a widow back in Texas.

HOWARD
|
An old timer who has a long history of prospecting, making fortunes and losing them. He leads one last crusade into the Mexican desert teaching Dobbs and Cody how to find and mine a mountain for Gold. In his old age he decides that he just want enough m oney to open a store and be a part of a community. He ends up with no gold but living happily among Indians in the desert of Mexico.

A greedy liar and cheater who "hires" people to work for him but then runs out and does not pay his workers. Dobbs and Cody get cheated, track him down, and give him a beating.
