What are the sources of knowledge?

What is authoritarianism?
|
Knowledge that comes from an authority (person or text). External.
|

What are the features of authoritarianism?
|
It is very efficient because you learn directly from the source of knowledge. Easily accessible. Gives us context for life, past and future.

Why is authoritarianism a justified source?
|
Most knowledge is of this kind, we learn form other people.

Why is authoritarianism not a justified source?
|
Could be mistaken for power figures bias rather than authoritarian knowledge. One does not reason for oneself. Not a foundational source. HTe information is only as good as their source.

What is intuitionism?
|
Knowledge that comes from immediate apprehension. Internal. Not mediated, and independent form and reasoning process

What are some features of intuitionism?
|
Instantaneous. Personal.
|

Why is intuitionism justified?
|
It strikes us with force. Provides is with explanations that otherwise elude us such as solving certain types of intellectual problems.

What are some reason intuitionism is not justified?
|
Could be mistaken. Can't be tested, verified or controlled. Unclear origin.

What is empiricism?
|
Knowledge that comes From direct sensory experience. External. Comes from the 5 senses.

What are features of empiricism?
|
Very "democratic," open to public scrutiny and verification.
