Political Party Research:
Independent/Moderate (Modern Whig Party). I was attracted to this party because it is the one I identify with the most. I took the Political Party Quiz and overall my political values were close to that of an Independent, and I am not too heavily opinionated on many issues, I’m open to hearing others’ views, so I like that this party is not very one-sided on the spectrum.
Some key priorities and beliefs of the party include: fiscal responsibility, strong national defense, and bold social progression. Being centrists, they also support things like a strong military, increased funding of education and sciences, energy independence, more spending on veterans and their families, and they oppose legislating …show more content…
The idea supported here is that America needs to appropriately compensate our active duty members. As for our veterans, they need to be provided access to high quality care along with services through a well-funded Veterans Administration. Then to show support and help all veterans and their families, the Modern Whig Party is creating a Veterans Affairs initiative to have immediate volunteer action in local communities. They will keep advocating for adequate pay, support, and pensions for active duty people in the military, and veterans.
The third topic of an issue they advocate for has to do with education. They believe there is a distraction from fixing our public schools and that needs to be stopped. The Modern Whig Party is in favor of merit-based pay for the teachers, school choice, charter schools, and a much stronger emphasis for STEM subjects in academics. Lastly, they are in favor of the reform of funding publics schools by property taxes.
For the most part I agree with a lot of their platform, or even all of it. The Moderates/Modern Whig Party is not very drastically opinionated one way or another on most issues, they are just trying to make a happy-medium that works the best for everyone, and with what they support and advocate for I believe they are doing a good job in showing their beliefs and representing what their party stands for while helping with the changes that need to be made.

A few of her contributors are the Detroit Medical Center, Baltimore Public Schools, and IBM Corp. Having the support of these contributors tells us that she is actively advocating for the things they do and show support for, and this is supported by the fact that her top sectors include topics that incorporate what these contributors are about. For example, her top sectors include health (the contributor along these lines is the Detroit Medical Center), Communications/Electronics (IBM Corp), and the Baltimore Public Schools would go with education, which is in her “other”
