Autonomy which is the desire to direct our own live. We have mastery that is the urge to get better and be better at something that matters. The third essential which I personally can relate to and understand is purpose the yearning to do what we do in the service of something larger than ourselves. Which in comparison to the other types of motivation for example motivations 1.0, 2.0 ,2.1 they seem more basic, average, and behind. They don 't really get the job done.
