• Recognize the loss- this is when people can accept the reality of the loss and for some trying to understand the death. Sometimes this is difficult with sudden death/suicide.
• React to the separation- to identify and express reactions to the loss. This is not just a reaction to the death of the person, but the secondary loss as well. Secondary losses such as loss of financial support or loss of a husband which leads to loss of a marriage.
• Recollect and re-experience –this is a process of thinking about memories of the deceased. This process helps integrate your relationship with the deceased into the present.

It's actually a comedy/ telenovela, but her husband died this season and episode by episode she's been moving through the "Six R's". This week (after 3years in TV time) she was finally readjusting to her new identity and thought she was ready to reinvest in something new.
2. What is the difference between anticipatory grief and un-anticipatory grief? Give examples.
In my opinion, anticipatory grief can result from anticipated death. Experiencing the death of someone who had a long-term illness can give people more time to cope with the inevitable which might cause a reaction of anticipatory grief.
People are more than likely to experience un-anticipatory grief when dealing with sudden death such as suicide, homicide, freak accident or catastrophic disaster. No one can prepare for such abrupt loss, and the unexpectedness of a situation can leave us with questions. How, when, why, what, who? Feelings of guilt and blame rush us with no warning, hence, unanticipated grief of the deceased.
