When we exercise the Year-Round schooling calendar kids don’t learn up to their full potential. After each nine weeks students start to get fatigued and stale. Without breaks students give up in school. If we utilize the Year-Round schooling calendar kids will have a break between nine weeks so they can stay focused, and feel refreshed after the break. Students would also have less snow days due to the fact that the winter and spring breaks are when it usually snows so they wouldn’t be missing anything. The leading factor in lack of education with the traditional calendar is summer slump. Summer sump is when students forget what they learned the following year. Students miss so many cultural summer activities such as midsummer a festival during summer to celebrate the longest day of the year. Students would be introduced to new cultures and new cultural opportunities. Students will also have a broader range of field trip opportunities. For example if an attraction is closed during the summer students may never benefit from it with our traditional calendar. Also Families would receive new travel opportunities. If a family wanted to take their family snowboarding they wouldn’t usually be able to do it due to their children being in school.
