Families of kids might have vacations planned or just want to spend time with their families. “Older kids have difficulties if they need to work in the summer.” (Chen) Summer doesn't just benefit kids it also benefits teachers. Teachers during the summer can continue their education, teach abroad, private tutoring, plan for next year, and attend seminars or workshops.
Adopting the year-round calendar will save schools money. “Some schools are implementing the year-round program to maintain more consistent instruction, while other schools are switching in order to save money.”
