Having a new option to treating mental conditions is worth mentioning and creating more knowledge and discussion about in the current news. Though a couple of years back there would have been doubts as far as how useful nutrition is as a medicine, I think now there is little to none. In Gisela Telis' article about this new idea, she provides two accounts of people with depression affected by diet changes. Jodi Corbett, one account, tells of how after years of suffering from depression she was surprised to find that a change in diet was where she found relief (Telis. para. 1). Next I will do the same and look into how bipolar disorder responds to and is affected by nutritional changes. Charlotte Cripps shows a real life example of bipolar disorders can be affected by a change in diet. Eliza Johnston suffered from severe bipolar disorder for ten long years. The cocktail of drugs she was prescribed was doing nothing to relieve her condition so she decided to look into a different option, dieting. Now, thanks to changes in what she eats she is living a normal life and managing her illness, all without drugs (Cripps. Para. 1,2). Finally in looking specifically at illnesses, I will be looking at how common anxiety disorders are affected by nutrition used as a medicine. For this topic, I need to continue researching to find evidence and support that I currently do not
