Introduction
Many people have trouble losing weight, some think it is the way they go about a diet, but what if it was the brain that is affecting their weight loss journey? I believe that the reason most people have problems losing weight is because they over think the process and the factors that affect it. This topic interest me because I’ve tried to lose weight multiply times and never succeeded. There are numerous programs that I’ve tried including the Military diet, 21 Day Fix, being on a 1000-1200 calorie intake, and exercising multiple times a day. How people support you in your journey can contradict your success. Also how you were brought up in your environment has an impact. If you were given a lot of junk food and processed food, you’ll more than likely be on the chunkier and it will be harder to lose weight because your body has a lower metabolism. “Multiple studies have found a correlation between a diet high in refined sugars and impaired brain function — and even a worsening of symptoms of mood disorders, such as depression (Harvard Health).” Growing up in a house with health fruits and vegetables, whole grain, and non-preservatives, your metabolism will be higher and, there for you will have a better chance of keeping off weight or losing it. Now days with food, a lot of it is processed and not good for you. There are a lot of pesticides and other harmful chemicals in the vegetables and meats. “Kids who drink sugary sodas and eat high-calorie, processed foods develop a taste for these products and continue eating them as adults, which tends to promote weight gain (Harvard Health).” Our plate sizes have grown and so has the amount of food we eat. “When portions are bigger, generally plate size will also be. There is a stigma with some people about “cleaning your plate”, and when that plate is bigger there will be more food that people are forcing themselves to consume (Penn State).” Now days you …show more content…
