"Impact of parenting styles on child development." Global Academic Society Journal: Social Science Insight 1.5 (2008): 16-25.
The authors, both have their PhD and teaches social science in India. They look at four different types of parenting (authoritarian, authoritative, permissive, and uninvolved parenting). They go in depth to explain what each mean and how it affects children’s behavior, happiness, and social life. The authors then go into how parent’s social class can affect how they parent. The authors conclude by stating most children’s mental health problems comes from the way they are parented, they also state that different parenting styles play a huge role in child development.
The article was published in 2008, so it is more current. The authors could have given more examples for their reasoning’s, however the currency and the authors credentials makes it very reliable. The author’s are reaching out to parents and children’s. The article has a lot of information and is easy for the reader to understand.

It is not current at all, but it is helpful for my research. There should be some more recent studies performed. Their audience is intended for all parents. The author’s educational background and experience make this book reliable. The article is easy for readers to understand.
Ventura, Alison K., and Leann L. Birch. "Does parenting affect children 's eating and weight status?." International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity 5.1 (2008): 1.
The first author, Ventura is an assistant professor, and Leann has her degree in psychology. Their study is to see if parenting and its effects on children’s eating is causally implicated in childhood obesity. Instead of performing their own study, they gather a lot of different articles to support their claim. After going through all the sources they found they make a conclusion that they did not gather enough information to support their claim.
This article was not that useful, however it is current (2008). The article did include some statistics in the intro which was a little helpful. If the authors would have gathered more information the article would have been better, but the content is easy to read. The author’s sources make this article reliable.
