The possibility of human cloning arose when Scottish scientists at Roslin Institute created the much-celebrated sheep, "Dolly." It was the first mammal that was cloned from adult DNA. On April, 2009, Panayiotis Zavos, the professor of University of Kentucky, claimed to have cloned 14 human embryos and transferred 11 of them into the wombs of four women but none of the embryo transfers led to a promising pregnancy (Steve Connor).
