Employee motivation plays a vital role in the organization. Without having motivated employee one company cannot reach its goal. Motivation means some psychological forces which determine the direction of a person’s behavior, a person’s level of effort as well as a person’s level of persistence. Basically intrinsic rewards are internal, psychological reward such as sense of accomplishment which creates good feelings among the employee. Intrinsic rewards are so important because they would make an employee innovative as well as they create high motivation. The job needs to be meaningful to the employee. Otherwise he or she won’t feel motivated. However, by setting proper goals structural frame could create positive motivation among the employees. We could consider the goal setting theory of Locke and Latham’s. Goal setting is the process of developing, formalizing, and negotiating targets that an individual is responsible for accomplishing. The theory describes that reasonably difficult goals are more likely to yield higher performance (Locke, & Latham, 1968). However, less difficult goals does not create proper motivation, therefore it brings lower performance. So, organizations need to set challenging goals to make the employees motivated.
