I will ask him a set of questions about his life in Toronto. The interview will happen at our home and will consist of him describing his struggles over the years, from leaving the Phillippines to moving into Canada.
The main themes of this project will be courage, strength, and determination. Leaving everything behind in one country and starting a new life is never easy. The documentary will capture scenes from various angles of medium to wide shots of his workplace, at home, and other daily activities at his spare time. The interview will have a medium close up of the participant. This will capture a pleasant authentic view of an immigrant’s life in Canada. People from outside of Canada will have a better view of life in Canada. I will give a realistic view on the matter of my father’s perspective of immigration. The film will educate the viewer by the narrator giving interesting facts about leaving Canada.
The project will be projected as a playful non-fiction documentary style film. It will be shot in a themed TLC lifestyle documentary, similar to the film style to shows such as Jon & Kate Plus 8 to Cake Boss. The audience will be inspired with a sense of empathy of the life of a first generation citizen. There will be serious moments about immigration from the part about leaving in Canada, but will overall be an inspiring
