PART 1: Decision Making
The first dimension I selected is the 8th of the list which is Decision Making. It is a significant dimension that subdivided into “Rule-based” and “Relationships-based” decision making. In addition, whenever a person is trying to make a decision, he\she should weight the positives and negatives sides of each choice, and reflect all the substitutes. Therefore, for operative decision making, a person must be capable to estimate the consequence of each preference, and based on these substances, decide which option is the best for each situation.
The “Rule-based” decision making depends on the universal application of a rule, where you are not giving a chance to the social life affects or control your decision and you are 100% obeying the instructions whatever the situation is. It is defined as the key function of management, either being comfortable with the others by interacting with them in a direct or indirect way. Direct-oriented people are those who get straight to the point and say what on their minds and attempt to convince others of their personal opinion with using clear statements and they are more comfortable with telling others what to do and always use their conviction way to communicate. While indirect communicators are more likely to observe, ask questions and barely say what they are thinking of. They also like to involve others with their discussion or ideas. Indirect-oriented people might feel offended by Direct-oriented people, but eventually, they will understand what they are feeling.
PART 2: Communication
While communicating, I am a direct oriented person. I tend to be straight and get immediately to the point which is one of my strongest values. Dealing with people required such method because I only use clear, definitive statements with considering that whatever I say requires conviction. On the other side, when I convince others, I demonstrate confidence in my thoughts and opinions.
