In the novel The Outsiders The one thing that stood out to me most was when Johnny was in the hospital and they all came together to try to make him feel better. They just couldn’t though he was in too bad of shape after the piece of wood fell on his back. Another thing that stood out to me about community is that the definition says that to have community you should have common interests and goals. To me that explains why the Greasers and Socs did not get along; because they did not have common interests or goals because of their money differences. For example in the rumble Darry helped Ponyboy when he was having trouble fighting off a Soc. Or when in the first five pages Ponyboy gets jumped and the gang all helped him get back home and fight them off. In this novel there are good and bad communities.
