My teaching philosophy is centered with the idea that learning is a matter of constructing ideas and practicing skills. I constantly ask the questions “Is cooperation emphasized throughout my school? Are the students interested in their studies? Are we promoting lifelong learning? The teacher in the inquiry-based classroom facilitates the process of knowledge and discovery. [This is in contrast to the user-design model in which the teacher is concerned with the process of design. The inquiry based learning model is considered learner centered and tends to agree with the most recent theories of learning (Carr-Chellman, 2010)].
Instructional Design Model for Maple Tree Home School
The design we follow is an adapted version of the Kemp Model. In my opinion, the Kemp Model works well with the ADDIE approach which consists of analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (Branch, 2009).This model was chosen because it allows for constant revisions to its instructional design. To create authentic testing- We do not have traditional testing in our school. Instead, students are tested using formative assessment where revisions and feedback are timely. A sense of accomplishment is important for children as well as a record or a portfolio of their work.

Assess student characteristics and entry level behaviors- Mental age or the mentality of the student is considered when entering our school. The students must possess a decent level of cooperation among peers. Being flexible and respect for others are key assets that individuals must display.
Analyze the available texts- The curriculum we use is current and meets international standards of education. Canadian and American textbooks that have been printed and published in North America are distributed to the students.
To create and specify learning activities- The activities we perform are meaningful and add enjoyment to our lessons. They not only help the learner understand the material being taught, but show the students how learning is applicable in real
