This research paper is about the study of dirty or tarnished coins. This relates to mold, or blue stuff on the coin. How can this mold come off? Well, this research paper is going to tell about the science behind cleaning Oxidized coins, or pennies. Cleaning coins like, pennies, can be hard. That’s why telling about this science will help if trying to clean a coin. However, this is about determining which liquid will best clean a coin. This experiment is Chemistry. That means that this includes using chemicals, and different acids. People always use coins, pennies, nickels, dimes, and of course, quarters. When people sometimes want to use coins, the coins can be dirty. Sometimes people might want to use the coins again. This is the reason why cleaning coins will make a difference in life because there is a possible chance that people can reuse these coins, once the pennies are clean. According to Henry Holt, who wrote an edu website about this experiment, copper oxide is the problem that’s causing mold on the pennies. These pennies are dull and dirty because of the copper oxide acids. Chemical reaction happens in this project, like all science projects do. Chemistry is a reaction that occurs when atoms are formed or broken. When removing the copper oxide, the vinegar will react to the salt because the vinegar is an acid, that will bond together and take off the copper oxide. Put the vinegar in the salt then mix the vinegar and salt together. That will cause a chemical…

convictions of the Guildford Four. The overall message is that Lady Justice is blind to the obvious lies and to the rigged weighting of the scales of truth. Beneath the blindfold of nationalism, there are steaks of cyan, representing the tears that Lady Justice cries at the manipulation, as she is forced by duty to dole out punishment unjustly; being the incarnation of Justice itself, it goes against her inherent nature and purpose. The tears that she cries are depicted in this colour because…

When copper is exposed to air it oxides, which then cause the copper to form a green/bluish pigment that surrounds the copper entirely which is also known as Verdigris. A perfectly good example of verdigris is the Statue of Liberty which was made from pure copper which then oxides over a long period of time with oxygen as well as water causing the green color. Copper is found in many appliance people use in everyday life. Copper application zones cover a wide assortment of distinctive controls.…

cation replaces another; represented by this equation: AX + Y ---> YX + A. The second is when an anion replaces another; written using generic symbols, the equation is A + XY ---> XA + Y. Many single displacement reactions take place in aqueous solutions, a solution in which the solvent is water. The reaction takes place when different types of metals or halogens come into contact with one another, such as zinc dissolving in an acidic solution. In this single replacement reaction, zinc…

mixes to form copper oxide. Copper oxide is also known as cuprous oxide. Cuprous oxide occurs naturally in some parts of the world as cuprite (wisegeek.org). face centered cubic. The atoms can easily create dislocations and slide past each other. Copper is great for electrical infrastructure because the metal is very conductive. This property is a direct result of its structure and atomic makeup. The fact that copper’s structure is a closely packed FCC and has a half filled “S” sub-shell gives it more available electrons to carry a charge. This results in its conductive property. Also notably copper can only be arranged as an FCC, this is caused by…
