freedom at all. The learning system that I though of was playing charades with the characters we learned in English class. It may sound simple, because it is, but it allows students to become more naturally attached to the characters. When people play this game they get to experience the character as they would in the books, but this time in the real world. Instead, read what the character does or say, people actually hear and see what they do, and it would make those characters more natural and memorable. So what is the best system that gives children freedom and play, while giving the educators authority to lead and teach them? Everyone might have his or her opinions, but one man’s idea stands out. In his book, Man, Play and Games, Roger Caillois states that there are 4 categories for play: Agon, Alea, Mimicry, and Ilinx. Agon focuses on the aspect of competition, Alea focuses on luck, Mimicry focuses on fantasy or story, and Ilinx focuses on chaos and uncertainty. Many games focus around these aspects, but rarely does a game have only one aspect. If the education method revolved around the same principles as games does, then logically it would be more interesting, depending on how the work and aspect fit together. In the current system, students are given a number based on how well they understood the content, the higher the number, the better the student understood it. The system seems logical, but the method of measuring the student is flawed as too many components of…
The children were located in their classroom at approximately 11:05 a.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016. The children had just got back from lunch and were busy getting back to their routines. The children’s ages ranges from five to six years old. The teacher, Ms. Otts, had arranged tables of 3 children per table. Each table was using play doh as their material. The teacher gives each student one container of play doh and instructs the students to see how many circles they can make out of each…
Most schools require students to play sports because they play a significant role in student’s life in many different ways. I consider sports not necessary a class rather than an extracurricular activity because students often learn more by playing sports than learning in class. In order to provide better education, the school needs to emphasize the importance of sports in student’s life physically, but also mentally. Playing sports is an advantage given to students because it helps them to…
profit off of an animated series that depicts American reality. But does Seth MacFarlane achieve this in the episode that first aired on Fox’s Animation Domination? The first American Dad episode called, “Pilot” which earned a 7.5 rating in Adults 18-49 and a total of 15.1 million viewers. The episode opens with a white middle class family together at breakfast with the children arguing about the significance of a degree from a community college and makes an incest remark. Quickly into the…
money alone (Ripley). It would seem logical, due to this money being donated and raised to support the ones left behind, to split it evenly within those that will receive it. Yet it was still divided by occupation and those that had a higher up position, received the most. It seems almost uncomprehend able as well, that the families would them sue for more money to keep up with their life style, given that their deceased loved one was so much more higher up socially. (Ripley) No person’s…

Have ever seen the James Bond movies or books before? While watching a movie have you ever thought “I don’t agree with that?” You want to know the opinion on this movie? People have families and live together with happiness. Some people do not have families and live alone because they decided not to get married. Some people around me who does not have families say it is really comfortable being alone, if they have to care about someone else it is too much effort. Also it is uncomfortable. There…
Muhammad Ali in 1967 stood up for what he believed in when he refused to be a part of the United States Army, even though it was against the law. Roger Goodell has recently been criticized for what he thinks is the right amount of time to suspend an NFL player for their wrong doings. When Ali and Goodell made these decision’s, they tested people’s ideas, shaped their knowledge and they attempted to build a community through their actions. Ali had no fear when it came to standing up for what he…

When watching “Pirates, Galleons, and Treasure: Globe Trekker”, one certainly does learn something about pirates and their history. However, that does not mean the documentary is particularly useful. In fact, the documentary while mostly accurate still has some small discrepancies and does not provide enough detail for it to be helpful to those actually studying pirates. The documentary is a fun resource for those who want basic facts, but leaves some facts to assumptions and seems to gloss over…
