ameliorate the relationship between himself and his kids because there is not a place for him to do that that fits into the order of his life. Jobs ' need for order hurts him yet again in his final moments of life. When he is diagnosed with cancer, he tries to cure his cancer by going on crazy diets thinking that this is the way that will cure him for sure. Thanks to his diets, he believes that there will not be a reason to have to open up his body. As a result of his actions, one of his closest contacts on the Apple board noted, " 'Steve has such a strong desire for the world to be a certain way that he wills it to be that way...sometimes it doesn 't work. Reality is unforgiving '" (454). Although Jobs had a valid reason to be cautious about people opening up his body, the extreme need for order caused his reality distortion field to backfire. His idea of how things should be was not in congruent with the way things actually are. No one could intercede and cause him to change his beliefs. His stubbornness took away years that he might have had if only he had chosen to get a surgery right away. He could have made a greater invention, better than the iPad and iPhone. People will never know the success he could have achieved because of Jobs ' death. Due to Steve Jobs ' constant need for control over everything in his life, he failed in achieving the American Dream as he was not satisfied nor happy. Because Steve Jobs was so picky about how he wanted things to be, he was not…
