“A person who has been rejected by society or a social group.” The word Outcast. However, it goes deeper than that, in to a person’s brain where it all started with a single person bullying them. Then several people start to bully you as you grown and get older, and then all the sudden one day it stops, they no longer see you. Everyone has experienced the feeling of being an outcast at least one time in your life, and if you say you have not, think back to the time you were just starting school…
The genealogies of Seth and Cain seem pretty boring a first glance. However, you can actually pull a lot out of Chapter 4,5 in Genesis. I would like to compare and contrast details that I have found very intriguing. First, I would like to talk about a few things that we distant to Cain’s line like how the line started with cain and not God or Adam. Also why it mentions a city in his genealogy and what that could mean. As well as why what Lamech said is so important. Then I would like to show you…
Curley Blink, Case Number 27 Today October 2nd, I have a patient by the name Curley Blink (Case Number 27). Curley Blink is 30 years old man, he works with his dad on a farm and he is married. I got to talk with him and a couple of his peers and also his wife for a short amount of time. There names will not be said for protective reasons except John Steinbeck who allowed it. He wrote a book called Of Mice And Men about his life on Curley’s farm. From what I heard I believe that Mr. Blink has a…
I was waiting outside her house listening to my music. She came out with a piece of toast and her mouth and I chuckled. I thought it was very cute. We started walking to school, hand in hand. She had to go to class so we said our good byes and hugged each other. I smiled at her and she starts to disappear in the crowd. I also headed to my class. I saw my friends and walked over to them. We talked about our guy things and saw the teacher come in. Everyone was quiet as a mouse once he came. He is…
After the worst "Thank You" ever and weeks of speculation, we finally found out what happened to everyone's favorite pizza man on "Walking Dead." The opening moments of Season 6, Episode 7, "Heads Up," revealed all your theories were right. "Walking Dead" has just been trolling us. Those were Nicholas' intestines the walkers were eating, and Glenn did pull himself under the dumpster to stay alive. Enid showed up again, too, providing water. After some tense moments and a little bonding,…
Though out my time in HDFS 3080, I have caught myself putting the effective interpersonal skills we have learned to use. I am now more conscious about the way I talk to others, and how I formulate responses. I have learned that the effective interpersonal skills I have been taught actually do help me communicate more effectively. In this exercise, I was to choose a relationship partner and engage in a relationship assessment. I chose my boyfriend of 8 years, Hunter. Goal 1: Increase Your Level…
My Android Friend Elizabeth One day Emily and I was sitting on the baseball field at school during our break in between classes, talking to each other about how we feel about our friendship and what could do to make it better. We decided that we needed a third friend because we could never find anything to talk about anymore because we felt like we talked about everything we possibly could and that we knew everything about each other, so we started think about potential friends we wouldn’t mind…
I went on a job shadow with Sergeant Chuck Robinson of th Kossuth County Sheriffs Office. Chuck is the nighttime supervisor, which means he only works nights and is there to mostly help the other cops, if need be. The entire job shadow was a last minute ordeal as my original job shadow fell through because there was business and personal issues at Elbert Chevrolet that kept me from shadowing there and watching. But continued to make this shadow a valuable experience. As I stated above I did my…
“Uh, um” is how I commonly end up when talking to new people. Often I use a different tone and language while talking to a distinct type of person. My words vary, I may get stumbled up, or even make snarly comments. All of which depends on the type of person I talk to. I talk differently to my friends, through text, to new people, to my father, and to my family. The first group of people is my friends. While I am with my friends, I am usually free and do not feel constrained. Often I joke a…
Sports can have a positive effect on society. They are one of the things that have made me the person I am today. Sports, mostly football and basketball, have shown me how to be a leader, how to stay active, how to persevere no matter how down you are , how it can help people in the community, and the ability to talk to people about the sports I love. Sports have no doubt been an influence for a long time, from ancient times to now. The leadership that comes with sports is a big deal in my…
