    The Life of Roberto Clemente Roberto Clemente was born as Roberto Clemente Walker on August 18, 1934, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was the last of six children to Melchor Clemente and his wife Dona Luisa. Roberto Clemente was married to Vera Clemente and they had three sons. Roberto Clemente mother was very religious, she often fed the poor children that would come over and play with Roberto and his siblings. Roberto parents instilled in him the value of hard work, respect, dignity, and generosity. “I never heard hate in my house,” said Roberto Clemente (Roberto Clemente1 1). During Roberto Clemente childhood, he led a group of boys to raise money to help build a fence to protect their school. Roberto Clemente also once rescued someone from a burning car. As a young boy, Roberto Clemente got up at six o’clock to deliver milk he was trying to save money to buy a bike. Also, as a young boy, he developed a passion for baseball. Roberto Clemente was dominant on any field. He made all-star for his high school baseball team for three consecutive years. Roberto Clemente also was the best athlete on his track and field team. Roberto had the ability to high jump six feet, triple jump forty-five feet, and throw the Javier in 195 feet. Roberto Clemente would have likely made the Puerto Rico Olympics team and participated in the 1952 Olympics had it not been for baseball.
