An authour at Brown University, Deborah Baum, wrote an article about the “Warrior Gene”, also known as “Monoamine Oxidase A (MAOA).” Baum states that people with the warrior gene tend to “exhibit higher levels of behavioral aggression…” (Baum) in comparison to someone without Monoamine Oxidase A. Baum also mentions that you do not need to have the “Warrior Gene” to be necessarily violent and if you have the gene, it does not mean that you will be very violent; having the gene only states that you will be prone to more violent behaviours when provoked.
