Project 2: Social Reinforcement Field Observation Coaching is a difficult job to take on. From having to teach unexperienced athletes a new sport or to dealing with know-it-all parents that just want their child to play every minute. To be a great coach there has to be some careful consideration into how they are going to deal with the children they are given. This coach in particular that was observed had a very outgoing personality. He was extremely talkative with every person that walked through the door waiting for the workout to start. The class that he was coaching was a CrossFit class within a gym in Aubery, TX with a class size of 13 people. The duration of the class was 45 minute long with a 15 minute stretching session. Dealing with the limited amount of space and a large class size the coach being observed knew that I was there watching him. With myself being a CrossFit coach as well, my knowledge for the sport was on the high end of the spectrum. Knowing what to look for with how to conduct a successful class helped me in the end. Coaching Behavior Assessment System The Coaching Behavior Assessment System (CBAS, Smith, R. E., Smoll, F. L., & Hunt, E. B., 1977) was used to evaluate various coaching behaviors over the course of the 60-minute class. There are two main coaching behaviors, reactive and spontaneous behaviors. Reactive Behaviors Reactive behaviors are coach’s responses to a specific player instructing them after an error (Weinberg, R. S., &…
adjective to describe Albert Einstein. I assumed that notorious meant “well-known for something”, but I didn’t know that it is meant for being known for a bad deed. So while I was trying to portray a genius that was well known because of his attributes to science, I was practically calling him an outlaw of some sort. But portrayal of my ideas are not my only writing error. Grammar can be seen as a tool that some are masters at while others fall just short of barely knowing the language. My…

Mistakes Were Made To error is human, is something everyone has heard at least once in their life. However, many people take this for granted by continuing to error in the same way multiple times. Realizing that I made a mistake, and I am truly repentant of it will grant me forgiveness, however, if I keep making that mistake, then forgiveness comes to pity and disgust. I made a mistake this past summer that could have changed my life, and possibly even ended it. I learned many things from this…

What makes me different or unique is I enjoy helping people. When I notice someone is struggling, I reach out to them. I try to offer assistance about what they are having trouble with, and help them so they don’t have that problem anymore. Additionally, I love to read and write. I have the ability to absorb and apply abstract principles and transfer points of learning to other fields and applications. I apply reason, logic, and emotional aspects in equal proportions to find the best possible…
