I would like to happily welcome you all in joining me on a tour of Carlsbad Cavern. Carlsbad Cavern is a United States National cavern located in the Guadalupe Mountains of southeast New Mexico. The cave was dissolved along cracks and faults in the limestone rock by sulfuric acid. The limestone was laid down about 250,000,000 years ago, as part of a reef complex along the edge of an inland sea. Seventeen to 20,000,000 years ago, the ancient reef rocks that had been buried under thousands of feet of younger rocks began to lift upwards. This historic park is very special because it contains more than 119 limestone caves. The cavern is special because of its many famous rock structures and its enormous room known as the “Big Room.” I…

If you hike up higher your on top of one of the smaller mountains and there is a huge waterfall up…

“Click, click, click!” The life jackets sounded throughout the woods. My family and I were in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. And we were going to swim in a stalactites filled, fresh water, cave! It was cool to try something new, but I was also nervous and hesitant, because it was a dark cave. “Let’s go!” A man yelled who was wearing a big pair of goggles. We all headed down the yucky, old, wooden stairs. “Don’t fall, don’t fall!” I whispered to myself. “You're okay.” My mom responded…
