the people of Krypton flourished using machines to reshape environments to suit their bodily needs. Eventually the Kryptonians exhausted their home planets natural resources. While relying on their energy reserves the government council established population control as well as abandonment of all outposts on their colonial planets. As a last resort the civilization attempted to harvest the planets core energy which in turn caused it to become unstable. Jor El, a scientist of high esteem, urged the council to abandon the planet Krypton and live off a few of the former outposts in an attempt to save their race. The council did not head Jor’s warnings and as a result he took matters into his own hands. Jor placed his new born child Kal El in a scout ship bound for earth in an attempt to save his son as well as his race. The product of a doomed civilization, cast into a foreign world and destined to a youth of longsuffering, would be molded to become a beacon of hope for all people oppressed. As a Kryptonian child raised on earth Kal El struggled to come to grips with his super human abilities as well as keep them secret. After the scout ship departed Krypton it crash landed on a farm that belonged to Jonathan and Martha Kent. Is it someone who can fly or shoot laser beams from their eyes or someone who saves a baby from a burning building? I’ll admit some of these characteristics are far-fetched since I don’t know anyone who can fly or randomly saves babies on a normal day. All heroes, including super ones, all have something in common, they're admired for their courage or an outstanding thing…

Superman isn’t sunshine. He isn’t all smiles. I was worried that in Rebirth they would leave out some of his tragedy. I appreciate his pain. This is why I loved Snyder’s interpretation. It’s real. Superman is the strongest because he suffers, and he is the more human than many, he’s had his terror. I love how they’re delving into mental health with this issue. Reading this issue of Trinity, was reminded of Wonder Woman v2 #175, 2001, he wasn’t able to save his city. Clark fell into depression,…

One day, my mother received news that one of her brothers was coming to the United States from El Salvador. She had not seen any of her brothers since she left El Salvador at the age of…
