the people of Krypton flourished using machines to reshape environments to suit their bodily needs. Eventually the Kryptonians exhausted their home planets natural resources. While relying on their energy reserves the government council established population control as well as abandonment of all outposts on their colonial planets. As a last resort the civilization attempted to harvest the planets core energy which in turn caused it to become unstable. Jor El, a scientist of high esteem, urged the council to abandon the planet Krypton and live off a few of the former outposts in an attempt to save their race. The council did not head Jor’s warnings and as a result he took matters into his own hands. Jor placed his new born child Kal El in a scout ship bound for earth in an attempt to save his son as well as his race. The product of a doomed civilization, cast into a foreign world and destined to a youth of longsuffering, would be molded to become a beacon of hope for all people oppressed. As a Kryptonian child raised on earth Kal El struggled to come to grips with his super human abilities as well as keep them secret. After the scout ship departed Krypton it crash landed on a farm that belonged to Jonathan and Martha Kent. After no government official had shown up at their front door Jonathan and Martha decided to raise Kal as their own. In hopes of helping Kal lead a normal human life they named him Clark as well as decided to keep the manner in which he became their son a…
A hero can be classified by many things. A hero can be superman, a police officer, and even your mom, but what makes a hero? Is it someone who can fly or shoot laser beams from their eyes or someone who saves a baby from a burning building? I’ll admit some of these characteristics are far-fetched since I don’t know anyone who can fly or randomly saves babies on a normal day. All heroes, including super ones, all have something in common, they're admired for their courage or an outstanding thing…

Superman isn’t sunshine. He isn’t all smiles. I was worried that in Rebirth they would leave out some of his tragedy. I appreciate his pain. This is why I loved Snyder’s interpretation. It’s real. Superman is the strongest because he suffers, and he is the more human than many, he’s had his terror. I love how they’re delving into mental health with this issue. Reading this issue of Trinity, was reminded of Wonder Woman v2 #175, 2001, he wasn’t able to save his city. Clark fell into depression,…

The refurbishing of Superman has opened the door to criticism and praise because of the manner in which Man of Steel was made. I hear krypton and I automatically think of Superman, the man of steel, so it inspired me to learn more about his one physical weakness. Where was is found? Who discovered it? Why is it so important? Why did they use krypton as this all might entity’s weakness? It is quite an interesting element to think about. Going back to Britain, krypton was very popular there. It was discovered by two chemist named Sir William Ramsay and Morris M. Travers on May 30th 1898 while they were researching a…
After being away for several years, Superman returns back to earth and is stronger than ever in the movie, Superman Returns, directed by Bryan Singer. After watching the film, Superman is portrayed to have qualities similar to Jesus Christ. They both leave and came back to earth, they are both saviors who protect the people, they both look out for the greater good of mankind and they both make promises. Although they are different people, both Jesus and Superman share similar qualities. In the…
When I was three years old, my mother explained to me and my brother that my father had left our family, though the idea didn 't sink in until long after. Over the next four years, our broken family continued to move into a variety of apartments, town-homes and houses as we struggled for financial stability. One day, my mother received news that one of her brothers was coming to the United States from El Salvador. She had not seen any of her brothers since she left El Salvador at the age of…
the simplest human being, and still be happy and innocent; that is what I see and experience every Tuesday when I go to Hart Elementary School. Being a kid is simple and fun. Reality is for adults, and that is how it should be, that is what I teach my family away from home. It is not sad if you do not know the reality, it is not downgrading if everything around you is simple and exciting. I go every Tuesday to Hart Elementary School for three hours to converse and enjoy their presence. I go to…
